Canada's premier research chair programme. Tier 1 (established/senior) and Tier 2 (emerging/early–mid career). Nominations made by institutions, not individuals.

- Tier 1: $200,000/year for 7 years (renewable once) · Tier 2: $100,000/year for 5 years (renewable once)

- Eligibility
- Tier 2: exceptional emerging researchers within 10 years of first academic appointment. Tier 1: outstanding established researchers. Institutions nominate candidates from their own CRC allocation — individuals cannot apply directly.

- Research Proposal: 2,500 words · Impact Plan: 500 words · EDI and HQP Training Statement: 1,000 words · Letters of support required
